Nick Zinner - Cartoon Caricature

Nick Zinner is the guitarist from the band the Yeah Yeah Yeah's. I really exaggerated and mutilated his likeness in these cartoon caricatures. Both are drawn in pencil, the one is colored with Prismacolor markers.

Karen O - Cartoon Caricature

Karen O is from the band the Yeah Yeah Yeah's - she makes crazy faces and does zany antics on stage while performing. I tried to capture some of her wierd expressions in these exaggerated drawings of her that are from my sketchbook.

Exaggerated Pencils !

Butler Horseman

This guy was designed for a spec-series that was for the Bravo Network. The show was about a family (the wife was the voice of Kathy Griffin) and this guy was the family's butler. I just like his horse-shaped face!

Gregarious Gentlemen

These four characters are loosely based off of the four gentlemen in the band, Interpol. I drew them in a Chuck Jones/Looney Tunes style which makes them something different than calling them CARICATURES of the band. I love these rough pencils :-)

Pencil Illustrations

These two images are examples of using 'staging' and 'silouettes.' They were the best examples I could find from my college work.

Caricature of Zoe

A very quick pencil sketch of the fabulous Ms. Zoe Saldana :-) She's the hottie actress who was in Drumline, played Uhuru in the new Star Trek, and now is of Avatar fame. Not much of an exaggerated caricature, but I think I caught the likeness

I like Cigarettes

My Father once bought me a book called 'Suburbia.' It was a collection of photos from a Californian suburb in the late 1960's. Long story short, I drew a ton of caricatured sketches of the people in this book and this one is one of my favorites. Her intense expression still makes me laugh!
